Welcome!

I'm Mel, a mother of 4 rowdy, noisy, loving boys, based in the beautiful High Peak. After 16 years in the hobbycraft industry, creating and demonstrating card and scrapbook layout design, and marketing and producing craft publications, my love for flowers pulled me in a brand new direction. I took the leap and retrained with the esteemed Tallulah Rose flower school in the Lake District, as well as learning sustainable techniques from a range of established florists before finally taking my formal qualification with the City & Guilds.

Thanks to a passion for floral design and cut-flower gardening, A Pocketful of Posies was born and now I take  great pleasure and pride from creating beautiful fresh-flower bouquets, wedding florals, funeral tributes and dried-flower arrangements. My little floral design studio, based here in the rolling peak district hills, is where I create all of my seasonal designs, made with mainly British-grown flowers and absolutely no floral foam. Soon I will also be offering giftware, plantable cards and eco-friendly wedding items on my website. Feel free to look around - I hope you find plenty to inspire and enjoy!
